Thick crusty bread, spread with butter, topped with sliced pears, goat cheese or blue cheese, hot honey, fresh thyme and then baked for just 10 minutes. Using blue cheese and hot honey will definitely wake up your taste buds.
4 slices crusty bread such as rye or sourdough, sliced 3/4 inch thick
4 TBSP butter
1 firm but ripe pear, unpeeled, washed, quartered and sliced into1/8 inch thick pieces
1 cup plain goat cheese or blue cheese, crumbled
1 TBSP hot honey or plain honey
1 TBSP fresh thyme leaves or 1 tsp dried thyme leaves
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F
Line a sheet pan with foil for easy clean up.
Spread butter on bread.
Arrange pears on top of butter.
Divide cheese evenly on top of pears.
Drizzle honey over everything.
Sprinkle with thyme leaves.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Serve warm.
